How to Make and Edit Bullet and Numbering List Manually in HTML

Why do we need to use HTML code manually, besides using instant HTML editor (such as office writer document editor)? Because sometime an instant HTML editor could not satisfy our desire about some appearance of text in HTML format, so we need to edit it manually. So, how to make bullet and numbering list in HTML? here you are:

If you want to edit numbering list you could use:

<ol>
<li>Burger</li>
<li>Spaghetti</li>
<li>Pizza</li>
<li>Sushi</li>
<li>Meatball</li>
</ol>

and the result will look like this:

  1. Burger
  2. Spaghetti
  3. Pizza
  4. Sushi
  5. Meatball

The numbering is determined by code <ol> and </ol>. In other way, if you want to make and edit bullet list, you could use:

<ul>
<li>Burger</li>
<li>Spaghetti</li>
<li>Pizza</li>
<li>Sushi</li>
<li>Meatball</li>
</ul>

and the result will look like this:

  • Burger
  • Spaghetti
  • Pizza
  • Sushi
  • Meatball

The bullet list is determined by code <ul> and </ul>. UL tag could be modified  like this:

<ul>
<li style=”list-style-type:disc”>This is disc bullet</li>
<li style=”list-style-type:circle”>This is circle bullet</li>
<li style=”list-style-type:square”>This is square bullet</li>
</ul>

and the result will look like this:

  • This is disc bullet
  • This is circle bullet
  • This is square bullet

The different between bullet and numbering is only at first tag and last tag. If we want to make number list, we use OL tag, and if we want to make bullet list, we use UL tag.

Ok, happy editing, writing, and keep your productivity. Warm greet from me…
